Want to learn how to crochet?
Then this is the workshop for you.
Join a group of teenage crochet beginners and learn how to make a magic circle, a slip stitch, treble stitch and complete the first and second rounds of your granny square....maybe even finish it....!!! AND you will be taught how to read a granny square pattern in a graph format. Best of all you get sent a video recording of the class you attended so that you can view it again and again to ensure you can practice what you have learnt.
C'mon - you have always wanted to make that skirt, bag, shorts or top? One hour long - and loads of fun.
Yes, these classes are a little bit cheaper than the adult ones - but that is just because I want to encourage Mums to get their teens involved in this craft that will become a lifetime hobby. It is great for mindfulness and calming anxiety and believe it or not, its great for maths, memory and anyone who suffers from ADHD. Trust me.
How many are in a class?
Teenage classes can go up to 10 enrolments per class - so get your friendship group together and have a load of fun during lockdown weekends or after home schooling.
What do I have to buy to participate in the class?
Get some 8ply yarn and a 4mm crochet hook, or some 10 ply yarn and a 5mm crochet hook - and get ready to learn. It doesn't matter if the yarn is acrylic or wool - just get something in a yarn that you love the colour and feel of. Sometimes when you are learning it is easier to see where to put the hook if you have a light coloured yarn - so PLEASE don't buy black yarn! Cotton is harder to work with if you are a learner so don't get that. Lets have FUN. Oh, I almost forgot - you can buy your yarn and hooks from Spotlight, Lincraft, Kmart or
Can I use my NSW Government Creative Kids voucher to fund the classes?
